Title: Head of Finance – The Netherlands

Languages: English. Dutch is a plus but it is not a must, provided the candidate understands Dutch labor law.

We’re looking for a vibrant and solid Head of Finance to lead our client’s Dutch finance team and department. This key role is all about combining solid financial expertise with a leadership style that is inspiring, approachable, and empowering. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of financial administration, management reporting, risk management, internal controls, IT systems, and taxation – while inspiring and leading a team of 10 talented finance professionals. In addition, you ‘ll be spearheading the smooth implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) ERP, ensuring local policies, procedures, and systems align seamlessly with the broader company group.

Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Prepare monthly flash results, management accounts, and KPI reports, updating estimates.
- Develop and update costing models to provide meaningful information for operational management.
- Oversee the full finance function, including variance analysis, working capital management, cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and reporting against budget.
- Prepare 5-year plans and financial models for capital expenditure requests.
- Manage year-end audits, statutory records, and filings.
- Liaise with financial institutions regarding funding and recommends financing options
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure all taxation compliance matters are met, including preparing and filing relevant returns.
- Oversee and authorizes payroll and take responsibility of personnel files, education, and evaluations.
- Manage risk by ensuring adequate insurance coverage and maintaining a risk register with action plans.
- Ensure company compliance with the authority matrix.
Leadership & Systems Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of 10 finance professionals.
- Act as the IT system owner, ensuring all user needs are met.
- Play an integral role in the ERP development and implementation process.
- Review the correct application of the IFS system.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Member of the Crisis Team as part of the IFS requirement.
- Contribute to Health & Safety functions, records, and documentation.
- Maintain strong relationships and collaborates across the wider business.
You have:
- HBO Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
- Proven experience (min 5 years) in financial management and reporting.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft D365).
- Fluency in English. Dutch is a big plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
