Company Overview

Our client is a leading company in noise attenuation for gas turbine and process equipment in the power and petrochemical industry. They develop, design, build, and deliver equipment to major OEMs, EPCs customers and plant owners world-wide. They provide customized solutions based on a proven track record in design, engineering, and manufacturing of Gas Turbine Exhaust Systems, Acoustical Components, Dampers and Expansion Joints. They also provide clean and safe industrial air quality solutions by controlling hazardous gas and odour emissions, volatile organic compound (VOC) and particulate abatement, or particle recovery.

Essential Functions

As a Quality Control Engineer you will make sure the quality of products/services delivered by our client (including quality-documentation) is in accordance with the set (project) demands. You will work hybrid from their European office in Nunspeet (The Netherlands), regularly visit and work closely with their fabricating partners and suppliers all over the world to deliver quality products and services to their customers:

  • You will be responsible for the total product quality aspect of assigned projects, including all relevant quality documentation:
    • You set and drive clear quality requirements for respective suppliers/subcontractors, including deadlines and follow-up regarding all quality aspects and documentation
    • You are a sparring partner for project managers, customers and suppliers/subcontractors for all quality aspects
    • You monitor compliance either by organizing and attending inspections or using quality control inspectors/expeditors at supplier location or a combination of both methods
    • You signal and take action on, and whenever necessary escalate, quality risks that might impact ability to meet the required quality levels
  • You maintain and manage the relationship with inspectors.
  • You advise on quality matters in drawing up contracts and the quality-policy to achieve or maintain the desired quality level;
  • You show ownership with regard to continuous improvement by confronting and motivating employees, and advise on improvement processes
  • You audit and assess suppliers for quality system, safety policy and suitability (in collaboration with Procurement)
  • You drive and coordinate investigations into complaints and deviations, such as Non-conformities (NCR) related to products supplied
  • You prepares all necessary quality documentation, efficiently, on time and in accordance with the (project) requirements
  • You carry out quality inspections, possibly using the expertise of third parties, including NDE and Destructive testing
  • You accompany customers during audits/visits at our suppliers

Here’s what you bring:

  • MBO / HBO mechanical engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in inspecting subcontractors (assessing their products and fabrication processes), preferably in a project-oriented company in the market for Power, Petrochemical or Structural Steel Applications.
  • Focus on customer satisfaction in close cooperation with our supplier partners
  • Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services
  • Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Material— Knowledge of material science, including their properties and interaction with other products in the system Welding – Knowledge of welding processes and related NDE
  • Dutch & English Language skills
  • Live in a distance of max 50km from the office in Nunspeet
  • Are able to travel 5-25% worldwide to clients
  • Required / preferred qualifications / certifications:
    • CWI or VT-W2 is required
    • IWT is required
    • NDO is preferred
    • IWE is preferred
    • NACE is preferred
