We have a very interesting position for a Strategic Key Account Manager in Amsterdam. Do you have an entrepreneurial spirit and are you able to identify sales opportunities? Our client – Yokohama Off-Highway tires is an ambitious, fast growing and internationally oriented organization. Their team consists of highly qualified professionals with a focus on sales and business development. In your position as Strategic Key Account Manager, you will be working alongside the Vice President of Sales for 6 months, learning the ropes, before you take over a complete region or country. This role requires you to travel around 50% of the time to key customers and dealers.

Their DNA is growth and have been the fastest growing off- highway tire manufacturer for the last decade. They are expanding into new segments and truly believe in a winning recipe of having global manufacturing while being present with local sales teams. Due to growth, they are looking for a Strategic Key Account Manager.

What will you do?

What will you do?

The position is a senior role within the sales team, focusing on key account distribution management and strategic segment development. For the first six months, you will work closely with the Vice President to gain comprehensive knowledge of the region, including front-end and back-end operations, customer engagement, market opportunities, competitive landscape, and team dynamics. Following this period, you are expected to independently manage a designated area within the region or country. The specific European region will be determined after this initial phase. You
will contribute to the overall growth of the organization by identifying and implementing a strategy to penetrate key accounts in the Region. Also, whilst being responsible for nurturing and strengthening relationships with the existing distributor/channels together with the team.

Detailed Role Responsibilities:

  • Manages key stakeholders within existing customer base.
  • Identifies prospects and new channel partners to further enhance the distribution channel.
  • Identify and analyze sales opportunities for the business in the Region.
  • Accountable to deliver sales revenue targets for different product lines.
  • Distribution key account management and business development.
  • Roll out of sales campaigns.
  • Build strong relationships with the distributors/tire dealers to improve revenues and acquiring customers.
  • Interfaces with Product Management teams to provide customer feedback on product performance and recommend pricing programs to remain competitive in the market.
  • Acts as an ambassador and representative to promote positive relationships and strong partnerships for YOHT/ATE.
  • Operates within a highly international set- up, with factories overseas and large parts of the organizations spread out over Europe and India.
  • To be able to do accurate forecasting.
  • Ensures total satisfaction through the life cycle of all relationships.
  • Interface between customer and technical department for managing the claims as needed.

Your qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent in any related commercial or technical field.
  • Relevant experience; a minimum of 10 to 15 years’ sales experience (European experience is a plus)
  • Currently working in the tire industry is a plus.
  • Experience in an international environment or as a distributor is a pre.
  • Affinity with automotive, truck, agriculture or industrial machinery.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • A high degree of self-motivation and a result-oriented mentality.
  • Enthusiastic and positive thinking; think in solutions, not in problems.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Not afraid to take responsibility.
  • Able to make analyzes.
  • Able to communicate in English (an additional European language is a plus).
  • Willingness to travel throughout the region for more than 50% of the time.
  • You are based in The Netherlands.
